Ingredients

  • For the Tacos:
  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 4 small flour tortillas

  • 1 teaspoon all-purpose seasoning (AP seasoning)

  • 1 teaspoon steak seasoning or your preferred burger seasoning

  • Shredded cheddar cheese to your liking

  • Toppings:
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce

  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles

  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard

  • 1/4 cup ketchup (optional)

Directions

  • Step 1: Prepare the Meat
  • Divide the ground beef into four equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball.
  • Flatten each ball onto a tortilla, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface in a thin layer.
  • Step 2: Season the Meat
  • Sprinkle AP seasoning and steak seasoning evenly over the meat layer.
  • Step 3: Cook the Tacos
  • Heat a griddle or large skillet over medium heat. No additional oil is necessary as the beef will release its own fat.
  • Place the tortillas meat-side down onto the hot surface.
  • Cook for 2–3 minutes until the meat begins to brown and crisp slightly. Flip the tortillas carefully.
  • Add some shredded cheddar cheese to the cooked meat side. Allow it to melt for about 1–2 minutes while the other side of the tortilla crisps up.
  • Step 4: Assemble the Tacos
  • Remove the tortillas from the heat. Layer shredded lettuce and sliced pickles on top of the melted cheese.
  • Drizzle yellow mustard (and ketchup, if desired) over the toppings.
  • Step 5: Serve
  • Fold each tortilla in half to form a taco. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Customizations: Feel free to add diced tomatoes, onions, or even bacon for an elevated taco experience.
  • Tortilla Choice: Corn tortillas can be substituted for a gluten-free option, but the texture will differ.
  • Oil Usage: Minimal oil is recommended to avoid soggy tortillas, as the beef will release its own fat.

Storage and Reheating

Storage: Store leftover tacos in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Reheating: Reheat in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving to keep the tortillas from becoming soggy.
